Sustainability

50 years ago, our founder fell in love with a small fishing village in Corfu and that’s how it all started. We want to keep this spark alive so we have always embraced the importance of protecting our beautiful surroundings and the environment we operate in to share with future generations.

From doing our part to protect the beautiful Ionian Sea that connects our hotels to adopting best practices across all operational areas, we are constantly seeking ways to safeguard the efficient use of resources and comply with international standards that support the minimisation of our environmental impact and carbon footprint.

Better food management, less waste

The safety of our food and that of our guests is non-negotiable and a top priority at Mar-Bella Collection. In addition to complying with all food safety rules and regulations, our food safety management helps us adopt best practices to reduce and safely dispose food waste.

Let's appreciate change together

From eco-focused educational activities for our younger guests to activities offering guests the opportunity to marvel at the marine life of the Ionian Sea, we encourage our guests to get in touch with nature, discover nearby traditional villages, beaches and places of historical, cultural and environmental importance. Elix, our hotel on the Greek mainland, is a Bike Friendly certified destination by NATTOUR, a non-profit organisation that aims to protect the environment and promotes the development of alternative forms of tourism.

We also want to hear your suggestions on how we can become better. Sustainability is a journey and we want you to join us.

Sister property to Nido (and equally stylish), MarBella is on the shores of Agios Ioannis Peristeron, on the island’s south-east and a half an hour drive from Corfu Town. Landscaped gardens are set on the edge of the Ionian Sea, the hotel has its own beach and water park, and there are no fewer than 10 restaurants and bars to work through.

A heavenly ocean-side retreat, with possibly the most beautiful views in Greece: If you possibly can, fly into Corfu, then take the hotel’s boat across the ocean to your final stop. You’ll feel entirely reset and ready to holiday by the time you arrive, having passed countless secret sandy shores, caves and inlets on your way, sea salt amassing to shimmer in your hair. Elix’s reception is then like a sort of celestial spa, with barn-high ceilings and windows that frame the infinity view, and even a soothing spa-like scent to cascade over your senses.

A five star Ionian hideaway with A list appeal: Elix is a five-star hideaway in a six-star location. Blended unobtrusively into the densely wooded slopes above the brochure-worthy Karavostasi beach, this eco-conscious hive of pools, stone, wood and olive-tinted concrete offers low-key luxury amid sage-scented gardens and nature’s wild splendour.

If you are after a restorative coastal retreat, book a room at Nido Suite Hotel on the southeast coast of Corfu—it’s adults only (for guaranteed peace and quiet) and situated on a tree-clad hillside that slopes down to the idyllic beach. All suites benefit from the dreamy views of the twinkling Ionian sea, but, if you want total privacy, book the Junior Suite with its own pool.
